It's Independence Day in the US. On this date back in 1776 the Colonists adopted the Declaration of Independence and became a new nation separate from the British Empire. Can you imagine the courage, the insight and the bravery taking that huge step forward required?
The definition of independent is: adjective - free from outside control; not depending on another's authority. Here is my Declaration of Independence: I hold these truths to be self-evident. I will command respect by my actions. I will honor the code of my soul. I will allow no one but myself to determine my worth. I will refuse to allow the actions of others to determine my own happiness. I will take care of me. I will speak words of truth, even when uncomfortable. I will practice Random Acts of Kindness. I will defend myself. I will use my words to heal not harm. I will use my hands to heal but will deal swiftly with any threat to myself. I will always defend my honor. I will always provide for myself - both emotionally and monetarily. I will go on adventures, alone if need be. I will not let fear stop me. I will feel beautiful. I will be tough and feminine at the same time. I will honor the Divine. I will put as much good out into the world as possible. I will enjoy being alone. I will let others be as they are and expect the same in return. I will listen and honor my gut instinct. I will accept compliments graciously. I will never be ashamed of myself. I will never conform. I will love without fear. I will not be taken advantage of. I will let karma work out what's due. I will be proud of my accomplishments. I will forever strive to do better. I will become better. I will accept myself in the now. I will never break. I will never give up. I will... Declare my independence and be free. I am free. I am brave. I am all in. What will your Declaration of Independence say?
